Can someone tell me what this plant is please. I have never seen it before. This photo is from last August. I have searched all my books and can't find it.
there seems to be some confusion between Phytolacca americana and P. acinosa. I thought I grew americana, then I was assuredit was acinosa, then back again and now I have no idea. But I don't care so it doesn't matter

Phytolaca americana seed head aka Pokeweed.
Pokeweed is a bit of a misnomer as it's not particularly invasive . Bees welcome it though .
Grew a few from seed last year to give to some of my customers ; they hadn't seen it before either
.
This one looks more like the Indian Pokeweed. Phytolacca Acinosa.

@nut,
Phytolacca americana as in "make americana great again"?
