Victoria Plum Tree
This year I've had no blossom & dead leaves on my plum tree. Some of the branches looked dead so in October I pruned the tree right back. Now there is a purple fungus growing up the trunk & along the branches. What is the matter with it? Can you help please?

I'm sorry ... it sounds to me as if it's dead or dying and the fungus is feeding on the rotting wood.
I don't think there's anything you can do to save it.
But for a gardener every cloud has a silver lining ... a dead tree is a new planting opportunity ...

Could be Silver Leaf disease - Victoria Plums are very susceptible.
