  • @Barney76 A question about your now deceased Bougainvillea - How long did it take for them to get that big, your plant looks as though it 15-20' long - was it several years old?
  • @Swanny_81 These are my Tesco ones bought in 2021, They're outside and doing okay.  4 degrees here in Essex tonight so will cover them with plastic as a precaution. I think if you're in the UK they'll be outside now till Oct unless we have a really cold snap. You just have to be cautious. Good luck with yours.

I noticed a lot of these for sale at the Malvern Show today. I resisted temptation but I saw a lot of plants in bags , I am hoping their new owners know how difficult they can be.

It was pretty mature when we bought it, maybe 6ft. It took a couple of years for it to get to what you see in the photo. They grow quick.
  • @Barney76 Hello mate, in your original post you mentioned you had another couple of Bougainvillea in pots. Are you leaving those outside or do you bring them indoors or some other arrangement - how are they doing?

My Bourgainvillea in a pot came into a light integral garage for winter.  It took too much tidying-up in the spring.

    The same for Plumbago.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.
