One of the lovely presents I had from Wonky was A Gardener's Five Year Record Book (an RHS book). I shall start off using it for my New Year Flower Count

re the New Year Flower Count event, are you planning to start a new thread on the topic on Jan. 1st? I am all set for it. At the moment and except for a bad frost until then I can count of about 20 specimens. Looking forward to the friendly competition!
My own garden related Xmas presents (from my sister ZZ):
Just having read part of the introduction to The Gardener's Year book, I am wishing that I had read this or similar when we first moved into this garden (I think I spend more time either in it, or thinking about it, than I do in the house!). What a great read it will be Papi Jo.
The egg cups and trowels - spoons are so authentic, Cloggie. I have never seen anything like them before and I love the idea of having fresh eggs too.
The 5 year record book is a lovely present, great to look back at, to compare the dates of the flowers from year to year.
I had a Beatrix Potter book with wonderful illustrations, so far of fungi as well as floral and of course the wonderful Peter Rabbit and other animals..
Yes, we usually have a thread for the New Year Flower Count ... I shall have to do my count on New Year's Eve so I'll start it then if no one else has done it ... I could always do another count from OH's Mum's garden on the day itself ... it'll be interesting to see if she's the usual two to three weeks ahead of us as in S Lincs they don't get the wind straight off the N. Sea as we do.

One of my Christmas presents finished today - just 500 pieces, so not as large as some jigsaws that we have undertaken, but very enjoyable to make, colourful and interesting. This is MY garden in my dreams.

Oh well Clari, that will be end of bits of cars on the kitchen table then. . . . or will it?
I shouldn't imagine so! Unless they join the interior in the lounge....
No way Clari, after all the months of work.
It will just need to be a hatchet face then instead of your usual smile!
Love the egg cup and spoon Cloggie
