Prunus split

Our Prunus seems to have split. The two main branches have been split and it was already a small tree (incomplete) due to pruning and/or dominating branches from nearby trees. The new branches with buds on are nearly touching the ground. What can we do as we want to save it as we really like it.

In this instance, it might be best to attach a photo so others can see the split. It's possible, if the split is small in relation to the size of the tree, you don't need to do anything. They heal in time. If the damage is quite big, you might need to cut the broken area off cleanly.
