Can anyone tell me what to do with Clay pebbles and how and what used for?????

you'll have to explain what clay pebbles are?
They are small pebbles, someone told me they were good for roots, not sure if it’s for hydroponic systems but was told I could use in the bottom of my pots for drainage.?
ah I know what you're on about know, you can use them for hydroponics or for adding drainage to plants, does the same job as perlite but isn't perpetually white, it blends in better to the soil.
also good for compost mixes for doing green roofs as its nice and light.
