Billy Joel's Piano Man ............ one of my favourites ......... always gets turned up loud when it comes on the radio and I sing along! Fantastic song!

OH says the opening lines of that song always make him think of opening up the farm shop on a Saturday morning ... I know it's am and not pm, but that made me laugh

The drawings are wonderful.I was lucky enough to see many of the originals at a Holbein exhibition at the Tate a few years ago.My favourite artist.
He did a painting of Charles de Solier and it is my Dad!! Every time I look at the painting (and I have really looked hard) all I can see is my Dad.It is uncanny the likeness right down to the beard, eyes, nose, mouth and build!!

“Every day is ordinary, until it isn't.” - Bernard Cornwell-Death of Kings
I am a lover of French Impressionist paintings, I love the three dance scenes painted by Renoir (he painted in Guernsey too - most of his beach scenes use the same Moulin Huet rocks) and the Boating Party and Monet too. I am not so keen on formal paintings preferring something a little more relaxed.
I am not sure how to download googled pictures, but I think you can find Renoir quite easily.

I agree, I have always found it to be a very unsettling painting, there is a sense of unease.
I have always assumed it was a painting about loneliness.
"they are drinking a drink that's called loneliness, but it's better than drinking alone" [ 10 points for the song, no googling ]
