Feral cats - born wild and live wild. Not native, certainly. But farm cats have been kept not as pets for centuries and many have wandered off into the countryside, not been handled for countless generations and are truly wild. They aren't necessarily recently dumped or lost. Any animal might be tamed, especially if around humans from a very early age. Our family's first cat was a kitten from a feral mother. He was lovely. Strays like the one we found last year are the ones that have been dumped or left behind. She was a sweet cat and her kittens - born in a car park shed - were scared but not wild. The Blue Cross found them all homes and the CPL took the mother in
