Wisley safe - for now

Just wanted to share some good news.  It looks as tho plans to land grab 1000s of acres from Wisley garden and destroy 500 significant trees have been shelved thanks to a petition and a study by the RHS - https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisley/Articles/Wisley-under-threat-from-A3-plans

A triumph for common sense and ecology - assuming no-one changes their mind.........

  • Pleased that common sense has prevailed, so glad I signed the petition - it shows that sometimes decision makers listen to Joe public.

Believe that any you'll believe anything.  The study by the RHS may well have had an effect but I doubt very much that a public petition did.

  • Perhaps not KT53, but at least we stood up to be counted rather than sit back and go along with them. It is so much more difficult to over rule/turn a decision once it has been made. Talking from experience.
