Emergency: Is my Fig plant dead

I bought a fig tree young and healthy from a website. However I wanted to ship it to my uncles house and I have bare rooted it and soaked it in water ready for transportation. However today I noticed the leaves have curled and are going a bit brown. I would like to know is it still alive even if the leaves fall and how long can the plant last to be shipped in 4 days. For a 2 day journey before being planted in soil again.

Sounds like Autumn has arrived. Make sure it doesn't soak in water too long. It will be fine to ship once it has lost its leaves naturally. Just make sure it is planted as soon as possible. A few days will be fine.
