Identification help wanted!

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone can identify this for me please from the full pic and close-up attached? The leaves are kind of dark purpley in colour. We're literally in the dark about lots of plants/shrubs, etc, in our new garden except for the blatantly obvious ones. Thanks in advance!
