Chicken wire over the beds. Cats won’t dig througho that.

  • A water scarecrow will work if it's cats but you'll get wet yourself occasionally when you forget to turn it off when you are in the garden!

I've never seen a cat dig a hole like that, even when trying to get at moles heard tunneling under our lawn.  I suspect fox or maybe a loose terrier.

Water scarecrows work on foxes too, and herons, but you do need to move the sensors about occasionally so they don't learn the trigger places.
