Chick weed
We always seem to be blighted by chick weed in our garden. Or something similar. Easily removed as shallow rooted, but during the main growing season fires seeds when disturbed.
Is there any way of eradicating the problem besides the manual removal or hoeing, the latter does not solve the problem.

Do you mean this one, I have a garden always covered in this, if you let it seed and touch it they fly out everywhere. I just try to pull it up when I can. Not worth worrying about though, I don’t think I will ever get rid of it.
I never had Chick weed until I bought some compost in large bags from B&Q I only poured it in one raised bed.. It came up big time and despite ripping it out, it spread to a second raised bed next to it. I have burnt it, raked it and sprayed it and it is stil coming back..
It's very good in a salad or a sandwich with egg or salami. It you can't beat it ... Eat it

Having a lot of chickweed is apparently a sign of a fertile soil. As weeds go it’s not so bad, be glad you aren't plagued by bindweed or ground elder!

Does Chick weed fire seeds in all directions when you touch it, I’ve never noticed that.
I've not noticed it either Lyn ... Perhaps I should wear my glasses when weeding

Hairy bittercress (the one in the picture) does though!
Digweed, it runs rampant even if it is checked??
