  • The seeds are widely spread and not under any particular tree. The woodland is predominantly beech, ash and sycamore. There are snowdrops some bluebells and red campion growing.

They look remarkably like snowdrop seeds/fruits ! (At this time of year)??????image

  • Bluebell seed pods?  Or are they usually sort of segmented?

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Not quite certain here , but I think the actual seeds of Bluebells are black . With the seasons being all over the place , who knows ?

I have Daffodils showing above ground , and catkins on my Birch-trees !

Too round and fleshy for snowdrops. The pods are elongated oval with seeds inside.

unless senorita is in a very different place to me, it's far too late for green seed pods on snowdrops and bluebells

    That's what I thought ; (today @ 13.42) !

Are there some trees we don't know about growing there ?

  • Some seeds have started shooting - small green shoots akin to snowdrops but look slightly fatter although they are only a few mm high. Defo not bluebells as we have planted thousands of seeds to try to create a bluebell wood.

we are on top of the Yorkshire Wolds - chalk and flint soil- could they be some wildflower seeds but what seeds at this time of year? We do have a small squirrel population which I suppose could have dug up the seeds but they look fresh and clean
