  The main culprits are plants in the euphorbia family.  It's the white latex-like sap.

  Also fig sap can burn and hogweed.  All are worse if the sap gets on skin exposed to sunlight.    Not a major problem if you are careful and wear gloves and don't rub your eyes either.

  Rue is another plant that can cause  skin photo sensitivity.

  Viburnum  rhytidophyllum can cause skin allergies for some people when pruning etc

  I pruned a Fremontodendron once for a friend and got something in my eyes that felt like ground glass,was awful for a few days
