I'm thinking Linaria purpurea, but there's something else very similar, I cant think of the name at the moment.
The alternative is cypress spurge, (Euphorbia cyparissias)which spreads by underground rhizomes. Do they exude a white sap when broken?
Hmm that does seem likely the way they'e spread out, I'll have a check for sap tomorrow!
Be careful. If it is euphorbia the sap can cause irritation to exposed skin and you need to be very careful not to get it in your eyes.
I say this every time I see euphorbia mentioned on the forum.......Be properly protected! Wash thoroughly when you finished
it took my eye 6 months to heal!!

I'm glad to hear that LilyP ... it must have been horrid and quite scary. I think we sometimes dont realise how ill we've been until we recover and realise that all the effects of the illness have gone.
