Pelitory of the Wall

This is a "weed", imagewhich grows in profusion in Guernsey. Often found in walls and between pavings etc. but this clump is growing quite happily in our driveway.  Apparently it is much loved by Red Admiral butterflies and won't be weeded out by me. The leaves are slightly sticky and we often find that ants have nested by the roots.

Nice plant, it grows in old walls around here.

  • Thanks, it does look far healthier than the scraggy ones growing out of walls.  This is growing next to a red campion plant which I water regularly - hence the glossy leaves on this Pelitory.
