Help with my lawn

about 2 weeks after putting the winterizer lawn fertilizer, I find i have patches of my front lawn dried up....... no apparent design just about 10'% here and there in the middle of the lawn. now about a week goes by and I believe I have what seems to be Moles..... I have holes all over the dead grass areas.... I do not see tunnels.. I can feel a small hole like tunnel going down in some of the holes but not all of them.... If I indeed have moles what could they be feeding on this late in the year\ ???
No marks like skunks or possum digging just small round holes in some of the dead grass ares....
