Honey expensive and in short supply

Here in Brazil we have a honey crisis. It is becoming increasingly expensive and in short supply. I believe the situation is similar in USA. I also read a news item that said that in a study of nature reserves in Germany, the number of flying insects of all species had declined by 75% in the past 30 years. This is clearly a very worrying situation. What is happening in UK?
Everyone likes butterflies. Nobody likes caterpillars.
