Yellowing leaves

can anyone help? We planted out a laurel bush/tree and it was ok for a few weeks but the leaves have started to turn yellow and drop off. See the picture image

    Hello Leanne84

Yours looks like the 'Portuguese Laurel' (Prunus lusitanica) ; keep it well watered (even now) and it will be fine .

The yellowing leaves are simply old ones that tend to drop anyway at this time of year .image

  • I agree with Paul - evergreens do replace their older leaves but not all at once like deciduous trees and it is this time of year when it's most noticeable.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
