Is it too late to plant colchiums?

I was late ordering all my spring bulbs and they took a month to arrive and I rashly included some colchiums in the order.
I know it's too late for them flowering this year but should I plant them anyway or have I wasted my money?!
Will they work in pots for the first season?

I'd plant them. If you don't plant them they'll die

Plant them now and you'll get leaves in the spring and flowers next autumn. You could put them in pots and plant them out when the leaves begin to die down.
