Hi holly . I think most folk on here do the majority of their gardening outdoors or in a greenhouse. The only indoor gardening I do is propagation (seed sowing and cuttings), which normally fills my windowsills with small pots and trays each spring.
Thinking outside the box...vertical gardening in a limited space is very interesting to me. Maybe some kind of a narrow growing shelf that would take advantage of maximum daylight would be useful.
It would have to be stable enough to not topple over, maybe those plastic suckers to stick to the windowpane. Drip trays to protect the sil when watering and be able to fit standard plant pots.
I might be crackers, and I know people will say "what about strong sunlight" and "drops in temp overnight" etc. but this is an ideas project....yes?
I do something similar to save space at seed sowing time with greenhouse staging on a worktop in the conservatory. Was thinking of a scaled down version for city apartments, could work for herbs or small salad leaves . Obviously NOT for cabbages .
