Where to Go?
Hello,
Sorry if I've chosen the wrong Forum for my query. I'm looking for a lovely old manor house/hotel in England with gardens where my husband and I could stay in May 2018 for 2-3 nights.
I'm sure on Gardeners World about 10-12 months ago the TV programme featured a fantastic family owned home/hotel with magnificent gardens but I can't remember where it was.
Can anyone help with a few places that would be great to visit and stay for 2-3 nights? I've looked on the Gardeners World website pages/forums but can't find anything. I've also searched the Internet but I'd rather take a recommendation from Gardeners World.
I do hope you can point me in the right direction and again apologies if I've come to the wrong webpage. But you all sound like a lovely lot of folk and very knowledgeable. - Which I am not!

I am just on my way back from Lords of the Manor which is in Upper Slaughter in the Cotswolds. Lovely place and nice gardens to explore. If you have a look on their website you can see a plan of the gardens.
The garden was one of the reasons we decided to stay.
We also went to visit Hidcote and there are other gardens nearby to visit.
Our room was overlooking the gardens so we got to wake up to some lovely autumn interest and I sure May would be glorious.
Just a suggestion you may want to look in to x
This place: http://www.fischers-baslowhall.co.uk/ I haven't stayed there but we went for lunch and it was fantastic.
Gravetey Manor, Sussex - former home of William Robinson who championed a more natural, cottage style planting than garish Victorian bedding schemes.
Barnsley House near Cirencester - former home of Rosemary Verey who developed the gardens, wrote books and designed some great gardens as well as advising prince Charles and many more.
Le Manoir au Quatre Saisons near Oxfordshire.
Probably all quite pricey but fabulous gardens and cooking too. More here f you want to look and compare - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/united-kingdom/england/articles/the-best-hotel-gardens-in-england/
I live about a mile from this one, I haven’t been inside the hotel but do visit the gardens.

Thank you to all of you for the ideas. I'll research them and make my decision. Again thank you for your time.
