Yellowing Portuguese laurel?
I planted a portugese laurel hedge for a customer in mid September. The soil is sandy but not a bad colour they have been looked after fine but look awful with yellowing leaves that eventually drop off. Can anyone suggest how to help the plants look better, I have already applied Epsom salts but the effect seems minimal of any?

Were they planted straight into the grass?
Poor preparation seems to be the cause of the problem. The planting site should've been cleared, dug over and enriched prior to planting.
New shrubs need plenty of water to help them establish too. These poor beggars will be struggling to compete with all the grass and clover I can see in your photo.
Stripping the grass from around them and laying a good mulch could help.

Yes, clear all the competition from their feet and maybe scatter handfuls of bonemeal to help with root growth. Don't mulch till they've been thoroughly watered tho or you'll seal in dryness.
