Sickly Viburnum

My Viburnum has developed rusty brown leaves and is dying back. Any suggestions as to cause and treatment would be very welcome.

Is it only on the area you have photographed? Any chance of getting a photo of the whole shrub. I can see the top photo has lots of branches and it does seem very congested and possibly planted under a tree or another shrub?

The shrub looks like it may be suffering from a kind rust. I suggest pruning away the affected areas to avoid possible spread. Your shrub needs good air circulation and removal of other neighbouring shrubs/plants that are crossing over it.

Take a look at the branches and the bigger trunk areas. Check to see if there are any holes or damage. There is a possibility that areas like that are entry points for all kinds of pests and diseases.
