Hi...I was watching the replay of this week's gardeners world. After the weather report there was a small flowered tall? plant with pink and purple flowers. Does anyone know the name of the plant? Thanks
No SilverSurfer that's not the plant, it is at the very end of the programme approx. 57;58. I think he may have said they are Asters? anybody know if this is correct and which variety. Thanks.
Quote "Until recently, Michaelmas daisies were known as asters, but their scientific name has changed, and many popular varieties are now known asSymphyotrichum."
I would have said the flowers were pale lilac with pale stamen.
As the flower ages the stamen darken..
There are hundreds of named It may be one mentioned here
