Leaves covering new grass seed

Hi there, I have seeded a new lawn because the weather for this particular October is holding up (60's off and on the next two weeks). However, I didn't take into consideration the massive amounts of leaves which are now covering the seed.

Concerns are water not getting to the seed. Also, them matting and keeping the sunlight out. Probably there are other concerns that I don't even know about!

It has been about 3 days and so far (of course) no germination... meanwhile, the leaves keep a coming.

Ideas? Doomed to fail? Blow the leaves off? Mow the leaves to small pieces? Leave them alone?

Thanks so much!
