Can any one identify this tree…

 Hello, I'm looking to put some trees in my garden and have spotted a few out and about that I like and I'm wondering what they are, imageimageif anyone could help advise me?

  •  Hello, yes I thought it might be… I'd love one with bright green leaves or fresh green leaves in the summer and then red like this in the autumn… But they're all different aren't they? I don't  suppose you happen to know what particular type of Acer this one is?

    Those look more like liquidambar to me - good tree which doesn't get too wide at the base and has glorious red foliage in autumn.   Much less fussy about winds and exposure than a Japanese maple type acer and certainly a more manageable size then European maples but they do like the soil to be on the acid side of neutral.

    If you're looking for autumn colour, have a look at Amelanchier and also Euonymous 'Red Cascade'.

    I'm with Obs on No2 . I too think Liquidambar of sorts.
