Moving palm plant

Hi, I would like to move the plant from the image attached several feet away from the house.

We rescued this palm from homebase shop (cost us £5 :) It was dying and was very poor. We planted it too close to our house. I have not expected this to grow so quickly and so big. There are actually 4 stems.

Now we would like to move this more towards the centre, away from the house to let it grow as big as it can.

Can someone advise if this is possible and how deep the roots can be? I understand it all depends on environment, but from my investigation so far I found out the roots are not so thick. There is a "bulb" - sorry for my technical language - just underneath the surface.

I am just trying to justify if this is not to big job and more important I do not want to keep kill the plant. I always wanted to have a palm in front of my house :)

Thank you and have good day.
Arek.

the roots can be quite extensive, but also might be quite thin at the surface. I don't know about the root structure of palms, but most tall plants tend to have a large tap root out the bottom of the root ball to anchor it in place to stop it blowing over.

if you can get it out, then you want to keep as much root ball as possible attached, water well before digging as wet soil clings to roots better than dry.
