Large bayleaf tree

I have a very large bay leaf tree. About 7ft high. In a lollipop shape. It's next to my house. And blocking a lot of light from my window.

Can it be dug up and moved to maybe another position. Or pot. It's in a border, only about 8 inches wide. Against a wall.

I would love to keep it. Don't want to just chop it down.

Any help would be appreciated.  Many thanks

If it's that close to your house I think it might be worth removing it and hoping it survives. I'd probablydo it now so the roots have a chance to grow before it gets too cold but if it doesn't survive you could get a replacemnt for £100  if you wanted to. If it's in the wrong place and could potentially damage you house - I'd move it and hope for the best.

I'd chop it down and plant a young one. They grow fairly fast.

When you said very large I thought you meant very large. At 7 foot high it's still a young plant.  They grow much, much bigger than that.  Make your decision soon because they grow fast if allowed to.
