Is this honey fungus?

Several trees and shrubs have been dying in my garden in the last few years. I haven't been able to find any rhizomorphs and looking for mycellium in the stems has been similarly inconclusive, but the roots of dead/dying plants haven't looked happy.

Now these have come up, and look suspiciously suspicious...

    I don't think so. From what I remember from the  Silver birch that was in our garden the fungi bodies grew out of the tree itself. But do see what others think.

    The little collar beneath the top indicates that it could but I do have honey fungus and the toadstools are a darker colour.

    Growth habit and colour look right so could well be HF.

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    The RHS are asking for us to contact them if we suspect Honey Fungus
