Mine get a weeklt dunk as I have to move them anyway to dust their windowsill.........
Not a fan of orchids - people give them to me - but this regime, plus an occasional pink stick of orchid feed pushed into their bark chips, has kept them healthy for years and they keep on making new flower spikes after a little rest.

That's been my experience too Obelixx. Only time we had a problem was when we went away for 2 weeks when it was very hot and didn't have anybody to come in to water. Lost a load then. After that, when we were going away, I moved them into a sheltered area outside and stood them in trays filled with gravel and water. Perfect when we got home. Our orchids seem to thrive on neglect. As long as you spot them before the flower buds all go brown they seem to recover.
