Red Bush Tree - Dying again?!

When we moved into our current house I was really pleased to see that we had a lovely selection of scrubs. This included a row of three Red Robin Trees against the fence, and a further two further along the fence.

A few months ago one of the trees in the group of two looked rather sad and it's leaves all turned down towards the ground. The leaves quickly (within a couple of days) all turned red, dried up and dropped off.

Whilst we gave it some water it deteriorated and in the end we removed it after it had died. Now the other one of the two trees has turned the same way and is looking like it too is dying, whilst the group of three remain healthy.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening, what it may be, and how i can ensure that i protect my other three trees?

Try to post a picture, hopefully with the soil underneath the plant. They are tough shrubs, but if newly planted and quite large in size, they may sometimes fail to establish. Could be a watering issue. It has been very dry in the summer months. With shrubs planted so close to a boundary fence, they may suffer.

  • Thank you for your response. I struggled with up loading a photo!

I do fear that i am too late now anyway, within the last week the leaves have all gone red and are starting to drop off, in the same way as the other one did.

To upload photos start with the camera icon.  If that doesn't work try reducing the size of your photo ... that usually works image
