Garvinea propagation

Does anyone know if the new (ish) Gerbera Garvinea's - will breed true if I allow the seeds to drop on the soil. They are still flowering really well but i worry they  won't survive the winter in E Yorks. So should I not deadhead and let the seed fall?

Hi Jem and Lizzy. Why not collect the seeds to sow next Spring. I don't think they would survive a Winter.

If you've been dead heading and no seeds have formed yet, you may have left it a little late

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • No there are lots of flowers left, ive been taking the dead ones regularly, which are full of seeds, to bring new flowers on, but thought should i be doing this - hence the question

Save them in a paper bag/envelope in a cool, dry place before sowing in Spring then image
