I have a smallish bed and several pots and baskets which i would like to fill with colour for winter but id like something different to pansies and violas ? Any ideas ? Thanks in advance ☺
Primulas?
Grasses, ivy, and those little bedding cyclamen (if they're going in a sheltered spot).
Heucheras, lovely with grasses, and tuck in some early flowering spring bulbs, that will add colour from Feb onwards.
If you have acid compost, winter flowering heathers are nice too - NOT the dyed/ painted ones!
Like Buttercups idea, I use January & February Gold or Spring Dawn daffs

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
