What is causing holes in my begonia leaves and what is the remedy

Maybe slugs, David (look for slime tell-tale signs) or more probable, earwig damage.
Slugs....pellets, if you use them.
Earwigs.....make traps by filling small pots with straw, then hang them upside down on a cane. The earwigs will migrate to the staw, the you can then dispose of them as you will.
