Magnolia Problems
I have a magnolia tree which seems to be suffering a number of problems, and I need advice to try to keep it alive. It was my beloved mum’s pride and joy, so has sentimental value.
The two issues are brown and curling leaves (see pics) and pink spots on the bark (maybe coral spot?).
I can find a number of online suggestions for what the problems are, but not much about how to eradicate them. Im a beginner gardener, so your advice will be gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance.

Hello rnb69
When a novice in the early 1980's , an old lady I used to help in her garden dutifully gave all her fruit trees ,plus her large Magnolia shrub , a 'winter-wash' with Jeyes Fluid . This was done without fail , always in December when every fallen leaf , disease ridden or not , had been painstakingly cleared from the ground .
She swore (not literally) that this prevented any spread of unwanted problems (fungal or insecticidal) ; and to be quite honest , I cannot ever remember her having any problems with her trees .
Maybe some of these 'old-fashioned' ideas are worth 'giving a go' !
Thanks for the tip. Will give it a go!
