Raised beds

Hi, my husband has just built us two raised beds in the back garden, they are 12ft x 4ft and 2ft high, he is filling it with spent mushroom compost, now is this ok for us to grow all our veg in, some one told us its very good for growing veg in, the reason for the height is my husband has a bad back, and this height will help him no end, any suggestions would be great, thanks Jean.
