Our current house was built in 1987 in a close where an old house had stood. The development had just 30 houses with space around them. They were about the last ones built in our small town that had much space around them.
We had moved up to Cheshire from Ilford in London and really benefitted from the London housing boom in the late 1980s
We moved from a post war former council house semi built to good 1948 standards. That house had a good size garden of unfortunately very soggy clay with a high water table.
