If the local competition charges between 15-30, why on earth would you only charge 14? Quoting hourly rates is a ball and chain that will strangle your business.
Next time you get a call try this; give a set price per visit, and don't even discuss timings. If they ask, just say you always quote fixed price, not hourly.
I would ask myself what I need to earn per day in order to live (as per Obelixx- (life's necessaries plus rent or mortgage, van use etc etc) multiplied by the number of days you work per week - allowing for an afternoon to go around quoting for future jobs. I wouldn't necessarily fix your price by the tools you use - (customers aren't that aware - all they want is a quality job for the price). For example - £120 per day x 5. You can test your customers reactions by giving an indicative price at the visit to be confirm by email. Just don't go bankrupt or starve yourself.
