Copper Tape

Recently transplanted some spring Cabbage seedlings into small pots with a band of copper foil around them and had no slug damage.
I've now planted them in the ground and cut off the bottom of larger pots and half buried them in the ground around the cabbages, again with a copper foil band around.
What are people's experiences with copper foil, is it successful ?

Yep, I used it on some of my potted up chilli plants and on my alliums. One or 2 snails manage to sneak in but in general I think it works well.

I would add some beer traps or some gravel or coffee grounds around the perimeter too. A few evening visits with a torch to catch any maverick ones is also worthwhile. Good luck!

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Copper tape worked a treat for my hostas.  Finally got holes chewed a couple of weeks ago and that's likely to be for the reasons given by pansyface.
