If it does turn out to be allowable, you need to be canny with plants. A Kiftsgate rose or Rambling Ractor or Wedding Day would have the vigour to cover it fairly quickly and you could train a viticella clematis or 3 up them to extend cover and colour. Alternatvely, 2 or 3 of the newer repeat rambler roses and clamtis alpinas for early flowers.

Hmm, but if it is legal then it's legal. No point in Steve getting all bent out of shape over it. Absolutely fair that the question should be raised, but put the shoe on the other foot - if you built a shed in your garden which was perfectly legal, what would you think about someone then holding a grudge and trying to prevent you from enjoying your legitimate property?
It's not the worst thing that can happen. Annoying, yes and if it's illegal, then get it sorted. But it is just a shed, not a slurry farm or a high voltage substation or a blast furnace or a car scrap yard or a glass recycling facility or well, you get the idea.

Exactly my opinion RG. Annoyingly it is behind my greenhouse and I can't plant behind that so covering it may be an issue. I can look at getting a decorative mesh up to grow some sort of climber along as that side isn't the main way my greenhouse gets light from. Thankfully!
Sadly the building turned out to be legal. Hoping his laurels grow fast to cover it. I'm not a big fan of laurel hedging but at least it isn't leylandii...

Steve, nothing to do with your problem but I have oft wondered:
Are you a gardening veterinarian
A veteran who gardens (military)
or a venerable, aged gardener of considerable experience?
Option one!
I will now sleep soundly tonight. Thanks Steve
