Getting rid of unwanted Cornus Sanguinea

The previous owners of our house had planted a cornus hedge which I want to remove. I've discovered that no matter how often I 'clear' the stems and roots, it still comes back and is sending out new shoots further into the lawn.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of this for good?

Thanks in advance!

  • Wait until the new growth is quite lush then spray with SBK brushwood killer.  You will need to wait at least 6 weeks for the roots to be killed before removing it again.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thank you! Will give it a go
