It's been allowed to grow out of control and has migrated out of it's bed - I cut those stems off today low to the ground. If I cut it all right back to the base, will it grow again?
It looks like a common dogwood, cornus sanguinea. In my garden it grows like a pest and it suckers. It responds well to pruning so if you prune it it will pop up again. I'm starting to hate it! You can buy cornus with lovely fire coloured stems for winter colour. You prune them in the spring as the new stems that grow are the most colourful.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Cannot see clearly from you tiny pics.
It looks like a Cornus sp.
Do please add pics ...clear close ups.

Thanks very much both! I appreciate your responses. Will give it a good chop in February :-)
