Unsightly corner

52 years of age and I have just got the gardening bug...

i have a horrible corner in the garden where two big concrete posts meet and would like a large shrub to go there.

I have looked at Pampass but I think they will get too big.

I need approx 6 ft tall and 3 to 4 ft spread...

HELP, very new of Chingford

Escallonia would do the trick. It's evergreen as well and if/when it gets too big, can be well pruned. Or a pittosporum, evergreen as well. The escallonia will grow quicker.

Do you know the aspect and what type of soil you have? Helps a bit when choosing which plant. Best have a plant that will do well there.
