Has anyone tried planting Fritillaria imperialis in an acid soil? I want to put them in our raised bed which is where the camelia and rhoddies are but I just read on the RHS site that they prefer alkaline. Should I chance it? Will they flower?
I don't think the pH of the soil is of paramount importance Moviebabe ; a free draining , almost sandy mix IS !
(Tip) Plant them sideways in the ground ; this reduces the risk of crown-rot . A sunny position would be preferable .
Tks Paul. I'll do all of that.
