I have picked up 2 bags (compost size plastic) from outside farm. Kept it 3 months. Looked inside as wanted to put on browning lawn. It was swaming with tiny black flies. Is this normal should they be there will they go? Can I use the ding. It does not smell and Is Very soft but not wet. Can anyone advise me . I Do not have compost heapasno room for it.

The flies will probably fly off at the earliest opporunity.
I'd not spread manure on a lawn.
I think it's more important, in the first instance, to find out why the lawn is brown now.
I was told that if the horses had been eating clover this would then grow from the manure.
can you do a picture of your lawn tomorrow jking so that we can take a look?
