Shrubs for dry soil near trees

Can any one give me some advice on shrubs to plant on dry soil near not under large deciduous  trees soils very dry in summer cheers

    Physocarpus Diabola,   Weigela,   Skimmia,   Yew,   Contorted Hazel,    Berberis  and Cotinus all grow in my south facing border about ten feet in from large deciduous trees on woodland on the other side of the fence.

    These are now mature shrubs about twenty years old.

    If the weather is very dry I let the hose run onto the soil to give them a good soak.

    Yes Dennis. it will be fine.

    I also have a variegated holly and Lonicera Dropmore Scarlet in that border.

    Dennis, I have just taken these pics and as you can see, they have all grown to large healthy shrubs.
