Weed identification

I'm hoping someone out there will be able to identify this little begger for me and, hopefully how to control it. It appears in my borders and lawn and everything we have tried has failed to get it under control. The best we have done so far is burn it but that doesn't last long as it soon comes back!

It's a Liverwort https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=412 I find them fascinating.
If you can change the conditions so the lawn and borders are less damp and compacted it will be much less of a nuisance.

Wow. Thanks for the swift response! Time to do some research now but at first glance it seems the first step is to make the soil conditions less hospitable for it!
