Delosperma

I have a new delosperma Jewel of the Desert plant. Do you think it will be hardy in central Scotland?? or will I need to give it shelter in the winter?

They are supposed to be hardy but  I think freezing and wet will get them. Maybe cloche them to give some protection and on the drier side if you can.

Have always wanted one of those bell cloches so may be a win win situation here!

They don't like waterlogged soil. Wet will do more damage than cold, I think, so check your drainage.

Resurrecting as I have exactly the same question.
Did it survive the winter hogweed? I have several in pots, spent the winter in the cold GH so ok on frost, not sure on wet. I was surprised I saw they have them planted out on Beechgrove in that mountain rock garden area. They are so pretty I don’t want to lose them.

I was pleased to find a tiny bit of that in a corner of my Alpine bed the other day. It may have been in a sheltered corner over the winter.
